Summer Camping Opportunities The following are the camping opportunities available for Cub Scouts this summer! **The Pack will be offering a $25.00 campership for each scout to attend Camp Akela or Camp Navajo.** Camp Akela June 13-15Camp Akela is a weekend program for graduating Tiger (Den 8), Wolf(Den 4), and Bear (Den 1) Cubs that is a unique opportunity for Cub Scouts and their accompanying adult to spend quality time together working on advancement, enjoying recreational activities and learning about camping. This is held at Phillippo Scout Reservation. Campers sleep in two person canvas tents that are supplied by the camp. Activities at Camp Akela have included pony rides, archery, bb-gun target shooting, swimming in a pool, boating, crafts, nature, and games. Food service is provided in a dining hall. Camp Navajo Wednesday July 9 - Saturday July 12 Camp Navajo is a 4 day/3 night program for Webelos (Den 2) that introduces boys to the basics of Boy Scout camping. Held at omahawk Scout Reservation near Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Webelos and Adults live in upplied canvas wall tents on wooden platforms with canvas cots. Activities include work on Webelos activity badges, nature activities, swimming, boating, climbing, wrist rockets, b-gun shooting, archery, and sport belt loop activities. Two different one-day experiences filled with fun, adventure, activities, and Activity Badgeadvancement. Free time activities have included archery, bb-gun shooting, games, andswimming. 2 pins are completed each day. Day 1 Activity Pin choices: Engineer, Forester,Geologist, Showman or Weather pins. Day 2 Activity Pin choices: Aquanaut, Readyman,Scientist, Naturalist and Map & Compass. REMEMBER: No Day Camps are being offered by the Council at Fred C. Andersen this year.
